We didn't start MatchaBrand because the matcha market needed another brand. We started it because every brand we found was overpriced, overhyped, or just... not that good. Velvet boxes. Mystical origin stories. Price tags that required a sad moment of silence at checkout. We wanted something better, so we built it.

We went to Uji, Japan, the birthplace of matcha and the region that's been growing the world's best matcha for over 800 years, and we stayed. We built direct relationships with family owned farms from Uji, Japan, learned the craft, and cut out every broker, distributor, and markup that had nothing to do with the leaves themselves.
The result: shade-grown, vibrant, zero-bitterness matcha that goes straight from the farm to your door, for under $50. Good matcha was never supposed to cost this much. Someone just decided it should. We decided different.

We carry all three grades because different moments call for different things. Slow morning? Ceremonial. Iced latte before your commute? Barista. Baking something ridiculous on a Sunday? Culinary.
